From jobs and innovation to energy savings and circular solutions, Europe’s home appliances make policy real in citizens’ lives.
Europe’s home appliance industry is more than a collection of consumer goods. It is a strategic industrial ecosystem that anchors almost one million jobs, deep supplier networks and hundreds of manufacturing and R&D sites across the EU. The sector drives innovation and supports Europe’s energy, climate and digital objectives – from reducing household energy use and cutting resource consumption to enabling repairability and waste reduction in everyday life.
Despite this contribution, the industry faces mounting pressures from rising costs, regulatory fragmentation, and uneven enforcement, all of which risk weakening competitiveness and investment in Europe. This campaign sets out the evidence and policy priorities for an EU Action Plan for the Home Appliance Industry – a coherent framework to sustain and scale the industry’s benefits for citizens and Europe’s economy alike.
