How much do you know about your home appliances? Over the past two days, APPLiA has been putting the public’s home sustainability habits to the test through an interactive quiz, highlighting how, if used efficiently, home appliances could save both energy and costs along the way.
The advent of home appliances has changed our daily lives drastically, by alleviating the burden of fatigue, and saving energy and water, while at the same ensuring the safety and security of the home. Today, home appliances have come to be our best companions, accompanying us as we navigate through the various stages of life and simplifying our daily tasks. But how much do we really know about them?
Europe's digital and green transition starts at home and appliances are a key driver of the change. In this sense, raising awareness about responsible behaviors and more sustainable consumption patterns is crucial to address resource efficiency, advance a circular economy and implement what we call a ‘circular culture’.
From products' lifecycle to repairability, durability, recyclability and energy efficiency aspects, the sector has a proven track record of fostering circularity and advancing sustainable innovations, to ultimately enable a circular economy.
In this regard, APPLiA was invited to host a booth at the European Commission’s Energy fair as part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week. This year’s theme ‘Going green and digital for Europe’s energy transition’, calls upon the very ethos of APPLiA’s mission to advance sustainable lifestyles through the most efficient practices when it comes to home appliance use in Europe.
The booth provided an opportunity for the public to learn more about their ‘home buddies’, engage in quizzes, watch dedicated cartoons and animations and check out the latest data on the progress made by the industry, towards achieving the ultimate EU's climate ambitions.
