APPLiA has created a Code of Conduct that defines a common approach for assessing, declaring and communicating on steam rates. As from 1 July the comparison of steam ironing products and their steam rate will be much easier and more comprehensive.
As from 1 January 2019, home appliance manufacturers in Europe, represented by APPLiA and beyond, are starting to distinctly mark certain large appliances containing F-Gases and Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs).
With this initiative, APPLiA members aspire to contribute to improving WEEE treatment by encouraging the on-going productive dialogue with recyclers, providing them with useful information and indications on the future needs of recycling technologies, while sending a positive signal to the market.
These Codes of Conduct are launched in the context of the circular economy, regular bilateral discussions between producers and recyclers over the last years. The signatory is open to all interested parties and not just APPLiA members.
