APPLiA is looking for a Communications Assistant to join its dream team for a 6-month paid internship (CIP contract).
APPLiA is the Association of home appliance manufacturers in Europe. We have 24 Direct Members and National Associations covering 25 countries. APPLiA promotes the industry's mission to increase appliance performance while reducing its impact on the environment. It plays an active role in the fields of sustainability, circular economy, energy efficiency, ecodesign, energy labelling, e-waste, resource management, chemicals, smart living, trade, safety and standardisation.
Position summary
The Communications Assistant will report to the Communications Manager and assist the team in the creation and development of both print and digital contents, with a focus on multimedia.
What you'll do
- Help with the content creation and restructuring of APPLiA’s main website;
- Make strategic visual considerations, in line with the visual identity of the Association;
- Actively and proactively contribute to the creation of both visual and editorial contents across online platforms;
- Support in transforming often technical and complex content into (audio)visual and well-written digital content for Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook and YouTube;
- Support in communication planning and helping to set innovative campaigns with a great impact;
- Work on the annual statistical report;
- Assist in day to day operations.
Where you shine
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Communications, Political Science or related;
- Good level of general computer literacy: Google Docs, MS Office, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, web-meeting platforms, social platforms;
- Full professional proficiency in English (written and oral); knowledge of other European languages would be a strong advantage;
- Strong passion for communications and interest in learning about the home appliance industry;
- Familiarity with design tools such as Photoshop and Canva. Video-editing skills are an asset;
- You are highly detail and visual-oriented and have good organisational and planning skills. You are able to work on a number or projects simultaneously, managing competing demands and deadlines;
- You are able to manage stress, multiple deadlines and effectively prioritise workload.
