Significant energy and water consumption savings can be made by increasing the penetration rate of dishwashers within European homes.

On last 3rd November 2016, CECED organised a Workshop on how to improve testing methods for washing machines and washer-dryers in the context of the revision of Ecodesign and energy labelling regulations. 47 participants joined the Workshop, representing consumer associations, environmental NGOs, energy and market surveillance authorities, EU Commission, consultants, several European testing laboratories, as well as CECED direct and non-direct members.

The home appliance industry in Europe calls upon European policymakers to enter into multi-stakeholder vision exercise to help realise the future potential of our sector in Europe by the year 2025.

Sustainability starts at home. It is this simple yet important message that home appliance manufacturers are bringing to the Sustainable Innovation Forum (#SIF15), the key COP21 side event in Paris, to showcase the contribution the sector can make to sustainable growth, a key industry priority.
