Joint-Industry Letter on the Future of the Energy related Products Framework

APPLiA, the European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE), the European Ventilation Industry Association (EVIA) and LightingEurope issued a joint-letter on the future of the EU’s energy related products (ErP) regulatory framework in the context of the European Green Deal.

The Commission is currently working to define the priorities for the Ecodesign & Energy Labelling Working Plan for 2020/2024, which will determine the future of the regulatory framework for ErP. With a view also to the Renovation Wave Initiative, the associations would like to take this opportunity to urge the Commission to prioritise three objectives:

  • Creating an ErP framework that is fit for the digital age,
  • Fully delivering on the existing promise of ErP through more effective market and customs surveillance, and
  • Promoting the uptake of ErP compliant products in the new and existing building stock.
